Royal Mail - Freight 2 Post

Shipment arrives in the UK as Freight but Royal Mail collect these items from the airline handler before converting them from Freight into Post for the purpose of customs clearance. Once converted / recognised as Postal, Royal Mail presents items to customs as postal items before injecting them into the UK network.

To develop everything correctly, make sure to adhere to the following requirements:

Sender’s Address

Based in another country, outside of the UK

Return Address

Set to default on our system to Royal Mail Heathrow Distribution Centre

Requirements

International shipments requirements

Customs Documentation

Required - either combined label + CN22 or CN23 separately. Please see here for more information on this.

Manifest – Royal Mail Sales Order Summary

Printing not required, as there is no one to hand the paperwork over to and the customers provide the pre-alert data to HWDC which acts as a replacement of the manifest paperwork

Royal Mail Sign Off

Required – CDS checks and physical labels.
For CDS checks, you will be requested to create couple of labels, manifest them and share with us the PDFs so they can be reviewed and signed off. For physical label sign off, you will be requested to create couple of labels, manifest them and ship them to Royal Mail.

Important:
Please also remember to develop our Containerisation (A-scan) API. It's one of APIs mandatory for Freight 2 Post customers.
