Freight 2 Post vs. Commercial Clearance
Freight 2 Post |
Commercial Clearance |
|
Overview |
Shipment arrives in the UK as Freight but RM collect these items from the airline handler before converting them from Freight into Post for the purpose of customs clearance. Once converted / recognised as Postal, RM presents items to customs as postal items before injecting them into the UK network. |
Customers prepare commercial customs data/paperwork to their independent customs brokers specification. This has no implication on RM. Items will be prepared by the shipping customer as if they were domestic using domestic labels and providing domestic spec data. The key difference to domestic is that RM have different product codes to domestic customers. |
